The VAA has assembled a team of well respected artists, visionaries, and leaders, some from within the projection mapping and motion graphics community and some that provide an outside perspective.  Each one our Judges were chosen for their vision, integrity and ability to thoughtfully review and evaluate your content.  

Camilo Mejia - Video Jockey, Visualist and Video Engineer from Bogota, Colombia. His work specializes in the creation and implementation of digital stage designs,  projection mapping and live video performance for shows, concerts, theatre and video art installations. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of audiovisual innovation, Camilo is one of the most respected and renowned figures in Latin america. He’s worked alongside the names of Ricardo Arjona (GTM), Mark Anthony (PR), Omar Alfanno (PAN), Luis Miguel (MX), Damian Marley (JAM), Mad Professor (ING), Dead Kennedys (USA), Tv on the Radio (USA), Cassius (FR) ,Yuksek (FR), Tinie Tempah (ENG), Buraka Som Sistema (PT), Jhon Scofield Cuarteto (USA), Calle 13 (PR), Gondwana (CHL), Cut/Copy (AU), Fujiya & Miyagi (ENG), BLK JKS (AU), Fobia (MEX), Tom Murgatroy (Ministry of Sound) (ENG), Ojos de Brujo (ESP), Nou Vin lakai (VEN) and Los cafres(ARG) amongst many others.

 

 

Grigori - VJ, Community Developer and Founder of VJ Union, Grigori has been working tirelessly for over 15 years contributing to growth and development of VJ Scene in Australia and Across the World. Based out of Melbourne, Grigori had showcased his work across Australia and Overseas with some of the biggest electronic music brands and through countless residencies held across Australia. He continually strives for visuals to be properly recognized while maintaining healthy buzz of VJ Union Community through its various and dedicated groups with focus on Software, Hardware, Show reels, Global support channel, Loops & Regional Channels across the world.

 

Jean- Pierre HEIM - Jean-Pierre HEIM is a highly regarded visionary architect with an international architectural and interior design practice in New York, Paris, Mykonos and now Shanghai. Mr HEIM has a degree in architecture from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and also attended the University of Illinois for specialized architectural studies. Founded in 1980, Jean-Pierre HEIM and Associates (JPH) has developed a rich portfolio of private residences, office interiors, retail stores, restaurants, hotels and showrooms. A few notable clients are Van Cleef & Arpels, Revillon, Baccarat, Christian Lacroix, Lanvin, Puiforcat and Club Med. Expert theater renovation such The Capitol Music Theater in Frankfurt Offenbach, the Luxor Palace in Dresden ,and the Studio of Babelsberg Postdam /Berlin, he is presently developing a new concept called Cinepanorama of outdoor restaurant, lounge cinemas. Mr. HEIM is an innovative and highly creative designer. He has been published in a number of books.

 

Neil Goldberg - Broadway Director Neil Goldberg formed the Cirque Dreams Entertainment Brand in 1993. Internationally renowned, Goldberg and his brand of Cirque Dreams shows have garnered the praise of critics around the country from USA Today, Associated Press and the New York Times to CNN, Today Show and Fox & Friends. Neil has been hailed “One of today’s leading theatrical impresarios” by the Los Angeles Times and “Uniquely ingenious” by the New York Daily News. The Cirque Dreams franchise is a globally recognized brand that has produced shows for Broadway, theatre tours, casinos, theme parks, resorts and cruise lines. Raffael Dickreuter - Designer and photographer based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally born in Switzerland he has a diverse professional background in film visual effects, design, web, advertising and photography. As designer and animator he worked on feature films such as Terminator Salvation, The Incredible Hulk, Superman Returns, Iron Man and others. He has worked for directors such as Steven Spielberg, Zack Snyder (300), Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Goldeneye) and Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean). Raffael founded XSIbase.com in 2002, which became the world’s largest social online community for Softimage visual effects software in a time before Facebook. In 2009 he developed a virtual camera system which allows directors to scout virtual film sets and action sequences. It has been used on films such as Green Lantern (2011) and Man of Steel (2013). He created two viral photo projects called “Black Mirror” (2016) and “Iron Man Grounded” (2015) which were featured in the media around the world.

Tbot - For over 14 years, Talbot Simons – known in the community as “Tbot” – has entranced the music industry with his hypnotic visual selection and video installations. He has continuously pushed the boundaries and technical limitations of his craft. He has toured and performed at some of the largest and most well respected venues in the United States. In 2011 Tbot founded of Electro | Visual | Revolution (EVR) – worldwide LLC where he has done everything from visualizing events, festivals and artist tours, to sitting panels and judging visual competitions. Examples such as: Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, EDC (and other Insomniac events), Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening, Tomorrowworld, Groove Cruise, Winter Music Conference (WMC), A-Trak, Fools Gold record label and others. He is the lead technical visionary at The Temple House/United Projection, a large venue in South Beach Florida where he spearheads a well respected team of artists; providing content and technical services for major corporate/private clients from around the world. Tbot’s team of visual artists and geniuses has lit up buildings to cruise ships, and everything in between – and will continue to push the boundaries of video performance for years to come.
